EU wide market research on nature-based solutions

REGREEN promotes urban liveability, through fostering nature-based solutions and accelerating the transition towards equitable, green and healthy cities.

REGREEN is a research project funded by Horizon 2020, focused on the development of nature-based solutions in cities. Core aims of the project are boosting innovation and strengthening local businesses as well as the quantification of ecosystem services, benefits and values from nature-based solutions.

Nature-based solutions are a huge topic!

Nature-based solutions, so-called NBS, are solutions that are inspired and supported by nature and which bring more natural features and processes into cities, landscapes and seascapes, through locally adapted, resource-efficient and systemic interventions. (European Commission, adapted)

Examples of NBS are green facades. However, biodiversity spots or ornamental fishponds are also considered NBS, because they increase green and blue spaces in urban environments.

Are you implementing or promoting nature-based solutions?

This can happen in a direct way (e.g. by implementing a greening project in your neighbourhood) or in an indirect way (e.g. by raising awareness or monitoring effects of NBS).

Organisations, which are involved in NBS can be profit or non-profit companies, organizations or initiatives with a wide range of services or products.

Your participation in this survey is very valuable to us and helps to reach a better understanding and support of NBS in cities.
